After the Fire: A Message of Gratitude

On Saturday, August 1, 2026, a devastating wildfire swept through the West End of the Spokane Indian
Reservation. At least five homes and several other structures were lost, including the historic Two Rivers
Casino.

Built in the early 1990s, Two Rivers Casino represents an important chapter in the modern history of the Spokane Tribe of Indians. The Spokane Tribe was among the early leaders in Indian gaming in Washington State, and Two Rivers became an important source of economic opportunity that helped lay
the foundation for all that followed. For many in our community, it was more than a building—it was a familiar landmark and a reminder of how far we have come.

Its loss, along with the homes and other structures affected by the fire, is deeply felt. Yet we are also very aware that the outcome could have been far worse. Through the extraordinary efforts of local residents, structure and wildland firefighters, EMS, law enforcement, volunteers, and many others, homes and property were saved and, most importantly, people were kept safe. We are deeply grateful to everyone who stepped forward—whether on the fire line, helping a neighbor, providing equipment or resources, or simply reaching out with words of encouragement and support. To all of you, thank you.

Events like this remind us that the strength of a community is found in the people who stand beside one another when they are needed most. We are fortunate to be part of a strong and resilient community, surrounded by friends and neighbors throughout the region who have shown us just how much Two Rivers and this community mean to them.

While the fire changed part of the landscape we have known for many years, it did not change the spirit of this community or our belief in what comes next. Two Rivers has weathered difficult times before, and we remain optimistic about the future and the opportunities still ahead. 

We also want our friends and visitors throughout the region to know that Two Rivers Resort, RV Park and Marina is still here and fully operational.

The Resort offers 101 full-service RV sites, ample dry camping, six cabins, a full-service marina, and welcomes both short and extended stays. We have implemented our fall pricing early, and by all accounts the fishing has been excellent, and the water is ready to be enjoyed.

If you have been thinking about visiting Two Rivers, we would be very happy to see you. Your visit means more to our community right now than you may realize. 

Most of all, we want to once again thank the emergency responders, community members, neighbors, friends, and organizations whose actions helped protect Two Rivers and the surrounding community. We are grateful for what was saved, mindful of what was lost, and hopeful about what lies ahead.

Two Rivers is still here. Our community is still here. And our little piece of paradise is ready to welcome you back.
